NewsAssociated Supermarket Group (ASG) Partners with AppCard to Bring Advanced Shopper Analytics and Marketing Tools to Independent Grocers

September 18, 2017

Associated Supermarket Group (ASG), the largest group of independently owned and operated supermarkets based in the New York metropolitan area, has announced a new strategic partnership with AppCard, a personalized marketing and shopper analytics platform for independent grocers.

ASG chose to cement a partnership with AppCard to offer their owners an improved means to identify, target and connect with shoppers. This new partnership gives ASG owners the power to increase profitability by engaging shoppers with personalized offers via digital circulars, text messages, email, and push notifications.

We are delighted to partner with AppCard to offer our customers a solution that provides both data insights about the consumers they serve, as well as a vehicle to reach and engage those customers to ensure store traffic and repeat sales.

“We are delighted to partner with AppCard to offer our customers a solution that provides both data insights about the consumers they serve, as well as a vehicle to reach and engage those customers to ensure store traffic and repeat sales. This engagement is particularly important for our independent stores as they compete with new players and formats in the retail space”, says Zulema Wiscovitch, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of ASG.

“In a market rapidly changing, where Amazon has become a real player, we are truly excited to join forces with a partner that puts its utmost effort into ensuring its members’ competence to compete with larger chains, by offering an easy to operate, data-driven marketing and retention platform. This is a true partnership whereby AppCard and ASG will work hand in hand to set their retailers up for success both today and in the future,” says Eran Harel, Vice President of Business Development at AppCard.

One of ASG’s Connecticut-based retailers has become the first to take advantage of this strategic partnership, launching their AppCard rewards program in July. With an AppCard rewards program, owners are able to connect item-level transaction data with shopper identities in real time. The AppCard marketing automation suite contains email and sms/text messaging capabilities to target the right shopper, with the right message or offer, at the right time. With AppCard’s personalized marketing campaigns, grocers can increase average ticket and improve redemption and retention rates.

“We’re committed to providing exceptional service and results to ASG grocers by leveraging advanced insights and delivering a personalized shopping experience that keeps customers coming back,” says Merrick Rosner, Vice President of Enterprise Sales at AppCard.
